Retro-Modern Concept
Deltarion is a new action game that aims to be an “evolution of retro games,” utilizing the precision of geometric calculations to adapt to smartphone UIs.
Developer “yas” was heavily influenced by many of the brilliantly idea-filled games of the ’80s.
The UFO-like character, Deltarion, is an homage to Zoshi, the enemy character from the landmark shooter game, “Xevious.” The idea of connecting lasers was inspired by the laser system of “THEXDER,” and the mechanism for surrounding enemies was inspired by “Libble Rabble.”
The Joy of Discovery
Looking back at the gaming landscape at the time, it was packed with creators’ innovative ideas, and for better or worse, there were many things I didn’t understand. I played this game, which I had never played before, with only instructions on how to play, and tried to understand its unique content. This process was like exploring a city I was visiting for the first time, and I discovered something new every time I played, which was a lot of fun.
Deltarion features a new mechanism called the Triangle Laser. Just like the retro games that people used to play with excitement and thrills even though they knew nothing about them, we want you to actually play the game and experience what it’s all about.
The controls aren’t difficult, but there are rules in place to maintain the game’s playability. Play and discover what you can and can’t do, and then come up with your own strategy for beating the game. That’s the way we suggest you play.
This version is a prototype. We are working hard on the full version, which will be released soon. Stay tuned!
